Architecture and Design Film Festival Ticket prices

  • $10 general admission
  • $ 8 AIA and CAF members
  • $7 students
  • $5 Film Center members
  • $4 for students and faculty of the School of the Art Institute, and staff of the Art Institute

To receive student and AIC/SAIC pricing, tickets MUST be purchased in person at the box office. A valid student ID or ARTICard is required as proof of discount.. Kids ages 6-17 are admitted at the student price.

Box Office

All ticket levels are available at the Gene Siskel Film Center box office, which opens one hour before the first show of the day and closes after the last show of the day begins. Generally, this means the box office is open from 5PM-8:30PM, Monday through Friday; 2:00PM-8:30PM on Saturday; and 2:00PM-5:30PM on Sunday. Please check the calendar to find the first show for a specific day.

The box office number is 312.846.2085 and is answered during its hours of operation for questions regarding accessibility for the disabled, lost and found, and other general facility questions.

Please keep in mind that the box office CANNOT accept ticket orders over the phone, place tickets on hold, or predict ticket availability. During periods of heavy customer traffic, the box office may not be able to answer the phone; please leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

Ticketmaster information

General admission and member tickets are also available through Ticketmaster at (800) 982-2787 or by visiting Ticketmaster.com.

All tickets purchased through Ticketmaster are will-call tickets and can be claimed at the box office during its hours of operation. Tickets cannot be claimed through the administrative offices.

There is a $2 per ticket convenience charge and a $3.30 processing charge added to each order placed through Ticketmaster. The $3.30 processing charge is waived for Film Center members.

To receive the $5 member ticket price, be sure to select "Member tickets" in the "Search for Tickets" box. A valid membership card must be presented for each ticket purchased when the tickets are claimed at the box office.

Refund & Exchange Policy

The Film Center does not offer refunds for tickets returned after a show has played. Refunds for tickets returned before a show has played will be issued at the discretion of the box office staff.

The Film Center cannot offer refunds for tickets purchased through Ticketmaster. Please see Ticketmaster's refund policy and contact them directly with any questions.

Tickets for shows which have not yet played may be exchanged for tickets to another show at the discretion of the box office staff.

Sold Out Shows

If a show sells out in advance, we will note it on our website, in our email alerts, on our movie hotline, and with signage at the Film Center. However, some shows do not sell out until just before they start. The best way to avoid last-minute sellouts is to arrive at the Film Center 15-20 minutes before your movie begins so you have time to purchase your tickets and concessions and get a good seat (all seats are general admission). Please note that Film Center membership does not guarantee a ticket in the event a show is sold out.
